New Enamelled Work

I have started to produce a range of work using vitreous enamels, silver and original pieces of vintage formica. These pendants are part of a cell collection of work I am making which includes some amazing designs for large brooches. The ideas and drawings have been in my sketchbook for ages so it feels good to have actually started to make them. I have wanted to explore colour for a long time and these are the first pendants I have made using some transparent and opaque enamels. Enamelling is an amazing process and its so exciting to be experimenting with this unpredictable process…. and wow there is so much experimenting to do! I am now busy making the accompanying earrings and I have just started working on a range of big brooches with kinetic pieces and riveted sections. I am about to put a few of the pendants and earrings for sale on my shop page or you can buy them from the Harley Gallery, Nottinghamshire or Bircham Gallery, Norfolk.

I am running a one day adult workshop from my workshop on Saturday 6 September called
Colour with Enamel. Its £90 including all your materials, silver and vitreous enamels.
It is a beginner’s course where you will combine a range of jewellery making skills with some basic enamelling techniques. You can come and experiment along side me with vibrant colours and different techniques to create a pendant using vitreous enamels on silver.  See my workshops page for more details or call me on 07939 238608 if you would like to book a place. Regular updates are always on my workshop facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/laurabaxterworkshops
